In-Home Preventative Diabetic Nail Care Program
Preventative foot/nail care provided by licensed, certified nurses
Preventative foot/nail care provided by licensed, certified nurses
Your visiting nurse will trim the nails, thin the nails if thick, and smooth the edges to prevent them from being pulled or snagged on the client's socks, pants, or sheets.
We clean the feet with soap and water wipes, and apply lotion if appropriate, and the client is agreeable. If we find anything of concern, we point it out and communicate with the client's physician group, home health, or hospice group if they are involved in the patient's care.
Our callus and corn care service provides gentle and precise paring to relieve pressure and discomfort. Your nurse will carefully reduce thickened skin, smoothing rough areas to prevent irritation and complications, ensuring optimal foot comfort and health.
Our fingernail care service ensures clean, well-maintained nails for comfort and hygiene. Your nurse will carefully trim and shape your nails, smoothing any rough edges to prevent snagging and promote healthy hands.
Please reach us at info@adaptcareservices.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We are licensed professional nurses who have also completed a certification course specific to foot/nail care. We have been trained and certified to work specifically with diabetic, vascular, and neuropathy patients, but we can see and provide preventative toenail/fingernail care to anyone. Services are provided in private home settings, assisted living facilities, memory care, and independent care settings.
We bring all supplies and tools needed for the in-home visit with us. The patient, family, or facility DOES NOT provide any supplies or other items for the visit. The visit typically takes 45 minutes to an hour and sometimes longer, depending on the severity of the nails. Our instruments are all medical grade and never shared during the day. Once we use instruments on a client, they must be sterilized and repackaged before they can be used again on a client.

Our work is extensive and generally lasts three months or longer. This timeframe varies depending on the client's overall health and nail assessment.
We can see some clients more often but leave that decision to the client/family's discretion.

"Susie Kellett is dynamic and terrific! She schedules appointments well in advance, is always punctual, and makes you feel completely comfortable. She comes right to my house, pays close attention to every detail of my condition, and ensures everything is taken care of with expert precision. The level of service she provides is what you would expect from a top podiatrist. After three years as her client, I can confidently say she is A+!" – Jim W.
As a retired physician assistant residing at Renaissance Marquis in Rome, Georgia, I've had the pleasure of receiving preventative nail care from Susie Kellett of Adapt Care Services for over two years. Susie is a registered nurse and certified foot/nail care specialist, bringing a wealth of medical expertise to her practice.
Our professional paths first crossed 25 years ago in the medical field, and it was a delightful surprise to reconnect with her through this service. Over the years, I've witnessed numerous foot complications, and as I aged, managing my own nail and foot care became challenging due to arthritis and Parkinson's disease. Susie's meticulous attention to detail ensures that potential issues are identified and addressed promptly. Her services are not only essential but also competitively priced, offering a safer alternative to standard manicure and pedicure options. In my experience, her care surpasses that of many podiatrists I've consulted.
I highly recommend Susie Kellett and Adapt Care Services to anyone seeking exceptional preventative nail and foot care.
